In my role as a Policy Planner, I act as a key advisor to Council and staff in relation to the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and related legislation, such as Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act (HSNO), the Crown Minerals Act etc. This involves the development and revision of policies, which reflect community and Council values.
I have had the privilege of receiving a Personal Development Award in 2006 to study Public Policy part-time at the University of Waikato. This study has provided an opportunity for me to increase my skills, knowledge and progress my career.
It is great to be in a position where I get to work on a range of diverse projects and get to work with people from across the organization. WDC has a great social network which has organized Quiz nights, trips to the theatre and kayaking in Raglan harbour, to name a few! WDC has a relaxed working environment, where the job gets done! It’s a great place to work, with so many quality people to work and play with!
