Off-licence

This licence authorises the holder to sell or supply liquor for consumption off the premises. There must be a person with a current manager’s certificate on duty at all times when liquor is being sold or supplied to the public.

The Sale of Liquor Act outlines the types of premises that are able to hold an off-licence. Supermarkets and grocery stores with off-licences are only able to sell beer and wine. There are also some special categories of endorsed off-licence for auctioneers and caterers.
