Fault identified but keep boiling water

Issues at the Huntly water treatment plant have now been resolved but residents are urged to continue boiling their drinking water until further notice.

Waikato District Council Group Manager, Community Assets, Richard Bax said a faulty valve at the plant had caused the problem yesterday.

“No contamination of the water supply has been identified. As a precaution we are flushing the water mains later today and once we receive a Ministry of Health all clear we hope to have things back to normal some time tomorrow,” he said.

Further updates will be posted on the Waikato District Council website www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz
